Jakob Rosenthaler (RT Motorsports) will be back on the starting grid for the upcoming EURO MOTO race weekend in Oschersleben. The Austrian had to withdraw from the previous races in Most at the last minute due to an injury he sustained during practice just a few days earlier.
The absence came at the worst possible time for the 20-year-old. After two race weekends, Rosenthaler would have traveled to Most as the championship leader. However, his lead over the competition was only four points. Italian World Championship driver Bruno Ieraci stepped in at the last minute, making a strong debut with Team RT Motorsports and narrowly missing a victory in the second race.
The five-week summer break in the EURO MOTOT ultimately worked in Rosenthaler’s favor. “My leg injury has completely healed over the past few weeks, and I’m ready to go all out again,” says the Austrian, looking forward to his return to Oschersleben.
Even though Rosenthaler lost his championship lead in Most, the damage was limited. After two race stoppages immediately following the start, the first race was not restarted for safety reasons and was not counted. As a result, no championship points were awarded. Points could only be earned in the second race.
There, local hero Stepan Zuda (Freudenberg RoRa-Paligo Racing) secured the victory on his home track and took the lead in the overall standings. With a 21-point lead, the Czech rider now heads to the Magdeburger Börde as the series leader. With a total of eight races still to go, the title race in the EURO MOTO Sportbike series remains wide open.
The fourth race weekend of the EURO MOTO season will take place in Oschersleben from July 31 to August 2. Tickets for the race weekend are still available in the online store.
