Relay Handoff in the IDM

The series' signature feature: the pit walk.

The International German Motorcycle Championship (IDM) will continue under the ADAC's auspices starting in the 2027 season. Motor Presse Stuttgart will remain closely associated with the series through its media brands MOTORRAD and PS.

After nine successful years, Motor Presse Stuttgart is stepping down, at its own request, from its role as organizer and promoter of the IDM / EURO MOTO. Starting with the 2027 season, the ADAC will take over responsibility for organizing the IDM.

Motor Presse Stuttgart looks back on an eventful and successful partnership with the IDM and EURO MOTO. In recent years, the series has evolved into one of Europe’s leading championships for both national and international motorcycle racing, captivating numerous teams, partners, sponsors, and fans. The close connection between the riders and their fans—for example, during the traditional pit walk—has become one of the series’ hallmarks. Another key component was the promotion of young talent: in the Moto4 Northern Cup, the manufacturers’ one-make cups, the Pro Superstock 1000 Cup, the Twin Cup, and the ADAC Junior Cup, young talents were able to gain valuable racing experience at a professional level.

“After nine years, the time has come for us to pass the torch to new hands. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the drivers, our partners and sponsors, as well as the many volunteers at the racetracks, whose dedication and great personal passion make a championship like this possible in the first place,” said Bert Brandenburg, Head of Events at Motor Presse.

Special thanks go to the racing teams from all over Europe, the ADAC’s regional clubs, the racetracks, all DMSB officials, the track setup crew and on-site catering service led by Colin Streubel and STC Racing, the timing team from BIKE Promotion, the TV crew from Radio Victoria, the press and PR team led by Anke Wieczorek, Rowena Hinzmann, and Michael Praschak; the hosts Lukas Gajewski, Danijel Peric, and Tommy Deitenbach; our photographer Dino Eisele; Karsten Bartschat for his technical support; Race Director Stefan Beck and his team, including Antonia Mandel and Marcel Putsche; all volunteers; the track marshals; and the current Motor Presse team, including Max von Saurma, Anna Temporale, Matthias Hacker, Stefanie Allgaier, Selina Jautz, Marcus Schardt, and Silke Roeber—all of whom have contributed together to the growing success and continued development of the championship.

Motor Presse Stuttgart will continue its partnership with the IDM as a media partner. Through its trade publications MOTORRAD and PS, it will continue to provide journalistic coverage of the series and report on the races, the participating teams, and the most important events surrounding the championship.

Motor Presse Stuttgart wishes the ADAC every success in its upcoming endeavor and looks forward to continuing its collaboration within the IDM.
