The Heat Shows No Signs of Letting Up – Golden Rules

The so-called "heat dome" continues to advance unstoppably. Temperatures could break the 40-degree Celsius mark during the EURO MOTO race weekend in Most. The European weather model is currently forecasting these temperatures in the east. Given the health risks posed by the heat, we’ve put together a few guidelines here so that riders and fans can enjoy the third event of the season to the fullest.

Stay hydrated: Drink two to three liters a day, preferably water or unsweetened teas. Avoid ice-cold beverages, as they can strain your circulation. If you don’t drink enough, you’ll feel tired, get headaches, and in extreme cases, experience circulatory collapse.
Cool down your body: Take lukewarm showers. Alternatives include placing cold washcloths on the back of your neck, taking a refreshing foot bath, or running cool water over your hands and forearms—don’t forget your forehead and temples. This will invigorate you, at least for a moment.
Light meals: Eat light foods such as salads, fruits, and vegetables instead of heavy, greasy meals.
Sun protection: Wear loose-fitting, light-colored, and breathable clothing, as well as a hat. Use high-quality sun protection (SPF 50 sunscreen, sunglasses with UV protection). Stay in the shade as much as possible.
Sleeping: Even in high temperatures, you should cover yourself and not sleep naked, otherwise you risk catching a cold. A thin sheet is sufficient instead of a blanket.
Car: Never leave children or pets in parked cars.

Be considerate of others.

Early symptoms of gradual overheating include a hot, red face, swollen legs, dizziness, fainting, nausea, headaches, exhaustion, shortness of breath, and a drop in blood pressure.

We wish all participants and guests an exciting and safe race weekend. See you at the Autodrom Most from June 26 to 28.

See you soon,
The EURO MOTO Team
