Celebrities at EURO MOTO in Most. Former MotoGP rider Jonas Folger will compete in the Supersport class on a wildcard entry. He is heavily involved in the development of the new KTM 990 RC R for the Supersport.
He knows the paddock well. Jonas Folger won the Superbike class championship in 2020. He has since joined KTM as a test and development rider. The Austrian brand is moving forward with the KTM 990 RC R project in collaboration with the German Freudenberg team. There’s a reason why the Bavarian is presenting the model at short notice at EURO MOTO in Most.

Over the past few weeks, the Freudenberg KTM-PALIGO Racing Team has logged numerous test kilometers during various official track days. However, it became increasingly clear that the conditions at these heavily attended events made targeted development work difficult. With up to 50 riders on the track at times, the team had limited opportunities for unobstructed laps and meaningful comparative runs.
“We need as many consecutive laps as possible. The EURO MOTO offers us exactly that opportunity,” explains team manager Carsten Freudenberg.
The decision to race at Most was therefore made jointly with KTM on short notice. The EURO MOTO event not only provides a professional racing environment with clearly defined track conditions, but also valuable opportunities to measure ourselves against the Supersport.
The focus will be, in particular, on further fine-tuning the suspension, optimizing various setup areas, and enhancing the motorcycle’s overall performance. “Of course, we’ll take this opportunity to see where we stand compared to the competition. Nevertheless, our primary goal is to collect as much data as possible and test efficiently. The priority is clearly on development, not on a specific finishing position,” adds Carsten Freudenberg.
