Lukas Tulovic was back. Not quite at the front, but on the podium. Markus Reiterberger won the second EURO MOTO Superbike race in Brno. The four-time champion put in a brilliant performance. Marcel Schrötter finished third.

Markus Reiterberger (Masteroil Alpha Van Zon BMW) and Marcel Schrötter (GERT56 by RS Speedbikes) broke away from the pack after three laps. Twan Smits (Apreco Yamaha) passed Florian Alt (Holzhauer Racing Promotion). Leon Orgis (ORM Racing) slid out of the chasing group after his front wheel spun out, just as he had in the first race.

Then Tulovic (Triple M Ducati Racing Frankfurt) entered the picture. Before the start, he had been keeping things under wraps regarding the reason why he hadn’t been able to keep up with the leaders all weekend. All he would say was that the team had found the problem before the second race and replaced a defective part on the Ducati Panigale V4R. The defending champion didn’t want to reveal his hand.

Starting from tenth on the grid, Tulovic stormed his way onto the podium. On the final lap, he squeezed past Schrötter, and in the end, it looked like it might be a close call for Reiterberger as well. But the Bavarian proved to be a tough competitor. Tulo faltered briefly on the final lap, and Reiti capitalized on his advantage to cross the finish line on the BMW M 1000 RR 0.775 seconds ahead of Tulo on his red Diva. It was his first victory in the class since the 2022 Hockenheim finale. “The first race really weighed on my mind,” he said in retrospect, “but this time I went with my tried-and-true tires, and it worked out.” For his 50-strong fan club, who had traveled to Brno, the trip was absolutely worth it. Reiti was celebrated accordingly.

For Tulovic, second place felt like a victory. “We had problems from start to finish this weekend. I’m proud that we were able to turn things around so well.” Schrötter was disappointed with his two points at the Automotodrom, but with his two podium finishes—he had won the first race—he has put himself in an excellent position heading into the next event in Most in four weeks. The result in Brno has propelled him forward in the overall standings. He is now just five points behind leader Tulovic.

During the race, Lorenzo Zanetti (Triple M Ducati Racing Frankfurt) and Florian Alt collided. Privateer Kevin Orgis (ORM Racing) overtook Twan Smits, the only Yamaha rider in the entire field, on the final lap.
