Last week, it was announced that a dealer partnership would enable Ducati to enter the International German Motorcycle Championship (IDM). And the first Superbike team has already been finalized. The Ducati Frankfurt Triple M Racing team has signed Italian rider Lorenzo Zanetti and German rider Marc Moser for the 2024 season.

Zanetti, 36, is the reigning champion of the Italian Superbike Championship. His list of career achievements is long. It includes Grand Prix appearances as well as a third-place finish in the European Superstock Championship. In the Supersport World Championship, Zanetti finished fifth overall in 2013, fourth in 2014, and third in 2015. He has achieved top-ten results in the Superbike World Championship. In addition, he is currently a member of the Ducati test team working on the development of the Panigale V4R.

Matthias Moser, owner of the Ducati Frankfurt Triple M Racing team, is thrilled with the rider pairing of Zanetti and Marc Moser. Everything looks like a solid plan. “I’m very pleased that a rider as internationally successful as Lorenzo has chosen us,” says Moser, “we’ll do everything we can to provide him with the equipment he needs to win. We believe that with Lorenzo and Marc, we’ve secured two riders who not only get along well but can also motivate and push each other forward. Overall, we aim to establish the Ducati brand in the IDM for the long term, and I’m convinced we can lay the groundwork for that in 2024.” Marc Moser has spent several years in the European Superstock Championship and the IDM Superbike series and should not be underestimated either. Since he has always been associated with Ducati in one way or another, he’s definitely one to watch.

Zanetti knows what is expected of him and is looking forward to it. “I am very proud to be part of this ambitious project by Ducati Frankfurt Triple M Racing. I know that Matthias Moser’s team brings a wealth of experience from the IDM, the Superstock European Championship, and the World Superbike Championship, and will be passionately aiming for the title next year in the
. I know the Panigale V4R very well and am convinced that this will help the team. I’m already familiar with many of the IDM tracks. Although the first race isn’t until May, I can hardly wait for it to finally get started.”
