Who is Mia Rusthen? Answer: a 19-year-old Norwegian who always wanted to be a ballerina but now races motorcycles instead. In her home country, she’s a rising star and a proud member of the Yamaha Racing R3 bLU cRU Benelux Team—the only Norwegian and the only girl on the team. In Norway, she finished second overall in the 2021 Supersport 300 Championship. In the IDM, however, success eluded her in her first season in 2021. But Mia is working on it.
Just over five years ago, her world looked very different. Ever since she was four years old, Mia had spent hours dancing. Becoming a ballerina was her dream. And that was still the case when she was a teenager. Until her father, who was a speed demon, took her along to a street race in which he was competing. At first, Mia was scared, but then she was completely captivated. It was the turning point in her young life that completely surprised everyone around her. The petite, fragile ballerina who had always worn pink got into street racing.
She says, “I love everything about it: the excitement, the speed, the constant thrill of improving and getting faster, and pushing my own limits far beyond what I ever thought possible.” She had a slow start in 2016, but then made steady progress. Now she races for Team Rusthen Racing – Yamaha Scandinavia on the R3 in the IDM Supersport 300. And she lets the world in on it. Mia Rusthen has mastered the art of social media marketing to perfection…
