In the run-up to Christmas, one piece of news after another is being unveiled in the IDM Supersport 300. The latest announcement is that the current runner-up, Marvin Siebdrath, will remain in the class in 2022 and is now expected to win the title.
Riding for Team Füsport-RT Motorsports by SKM-Kawasaki, Siebdrath has secured six podium finishes recently, including victories at Oschersleben and Assen. In the final standings at the end of the year, the Saxon rider was just ten points behind overall champion Lennox Lehmann on the Ninja 400.
It was Siebdrath’s twelfth season in a racing series. “Actually, almost everything stayed the same compared to last year,” says the 18-year-old, before quickly adding, “But the most important thing was different: the results. They were significantly better than the previous season, so I was able to finish the year as runner-up with 193 points.”
Siebdrath will be joined by 20-year-old Bryan Cohen from the Netherlands as his teammate, and the pair are heading into their third season together with Füsport-RT Motorsports by SKM-Kawasaki. Team owner Rob Vennegoor has high hopes for the German rider: “He improved a lot last season. I’m sure there’s much more to come. To be honest, we can hardly wait for the season to start, but it’s still a while away. On the other hand, that gives us the chance to be fully prepared for 2022.”
