Martin Vugrinec, Supersport the IDM Supersport , has applied for a wild card for the Supersport in Most. The confirmation has now been received. From August 6 to 8, 2021, the class will make its debut in the Czech city of Most, which has a population of 66,000, as part of the Superbike World Championship.

“My entry is now 100 percent confirmed, and the money has already been transferred,” says the 22-year-old Yamaha rider from the ferQUEST – Unior Racing Team. Although he lives in Bochum, Vugrinec is a Croatian citizen and will be competing under his home country’s license. His team isn’t taking this wildcard entry lightly. “We’ve built a special engine for the race and want to see how it performs. Since I’d generally like to move up to the Supersport, we need to see whether we always have to buy expensive parts or if we can make them ourselves. The wildcard opportunity in Most will show us where we stand overall. We’ll make further plans after that.” Vugrinec is also eyeing a wildcard entry at Magny-Cours in France in September.

“Over the past 20 days, I’ve been working as an instructor at four events at the Rijeka racetrack—‘three times on my own, and once with my brother,’ says ‘Spider’ Martin, sporting an oversized spider on his helmet and motorcycle.”
