The Superbike project has been put on hold for the time being at Team SWPN. Instead, the Dutch team will be competing in the EURO MOTO Sportbike class with newcomer Jay-Jay the Hood.
For the 15-year-old, this marks his first step onto the international stage. He comes from the Yamaha Blu Cru Benelux Championship, where he competed in the Yamaha R3 Cup. The BluCru program offers the advantage of allowing riders to qualify for higher classes within the Yamaha racing family.
The new Yamaha R7 is ready and waiting for Jay-Jay den Hood in the EURO MOTO Sportbike class. It is currently the most competitive class. Within the SWPN team, the focus is on supporting the teenager, helping him gain international experience, and developing a plan for his next step up.
With the announcement of Jay-Jay den Hood, the SWPN team’s rider lineup is now complete. According to team manager Frank Brouwer, pairing him with Luca De Vleeschauwer on the Yamaha R9 in the EURO MOTO Supersport class creates a good balance between a podium contender and a promising young talent.
