When Dirk Geiger and Julius Caesar Rörig arrive in Most, Czech Republic, today for the third round of the IDM, alarm bells are ringing for their Supersport rivals. The Honda CBR 600 RR riders from MCA Racing are racking up points like never before, and Geiger has even already tested on the North Bohemian track.
There are nine left-hand and twelve right-hand turns per lap at the Most Autodrome. Dirk Geiger is completely relaxed. With three wins in four races, he comfortably leads the championship standings in the IDM Supersport . Two weeks ago, the 22-year-old from Mannheim also tested on the track, and according to him, the results were very positive. Geiger is keeping the exact details under wraps, but he does reveal this much: “It’s about me and the bike.” Last year’s IDM third-place finisher, with his bright yellow helmet, has never made a secret of his desire to win the title this season. There’s only this one goal. Second-place rider Luca de Vleeschauwer (B/Ducati) trails Geiger by 22 points, and Geiger himself says: “Right now, the only thing holding me back is myself.”

MCA teammate Julius Caesar Rörig got off to a flying start this season—until his fateful crash at the Schleizer Dreieck: a torn muscle fiber and bone edema in his right leg. The 18-year-old Honda rider from Holzappel will compete in the race weekend in Most nonetheless. “I’m feeling pretty good. I’m not in any pain. The torn muscle fiber has healed well, though the bruises are still there. We’ll see how it goes under stress. But I think everything will be fine.”

Rörig knows what to expect in the Czech Republic: “The competition in Most is tough—especially the local favorites. But since the start of this season, we know that anything is possible.”
