The new IDM Sportbike class is increasingly attracting well-known riders and teams. Now, a well-known team from the IDM Supersport 300 has also confirmed its participation: Freudenberg Rora-Paligo Racing. Under a new name, but with the proven expertise of team boss Carsten Freudenberg, the team is kicking off the new season and is banking on promising young talent in the form of Louis Rammerstorfer. The new team name came about with the addition of partner Roman Rammerstorfer and his company RORA, which is serving as the main sponsor alongside Paligo.
As the reigning ADAC Junior Cup champion, Louis Rammerstorfer will be on the starting grid for the Bischofswerda-based team in the upcoming season. The 17-year-old aims to take his career to the next level in the rookie class with the experienced crew led by Carsten Freudenberg. In doing so, he is following in the footsteps of his older brother, Leo Rammerstorfer, who also competed in the IDM Supersport 300 under the Freudenberg banner in 2021 and 2022. After finishing as runner-up in his second year, he moved to the MotoGP Red Bull Rookies Cup in 2023.
Louis Rammerstorfer is excited about this new challenge: “I’m thrilled to be joining the Freudenberg Rora-Paligo Racing Team in 2025. The new sportbike class gives me the chance to develop my skills and gain valuable experience. My goal is to learn as much as possible with the team and to keep improving.”
Unlike in previous years, the Freudenberg team will not be competing in the IDM on KTM motorcycles, but is switching brands. “The IDM Sportbike class is based on new regulations featuring motorcycles with a displacement of around 650 cc and approximately 95 hp. Since KTM does not offer a homologated model, we are starting with the Triumph Daytona 660, which already won a championship title in England in 2024,” explains Carsten Freudenberg. The motorcycles and spare parts come from a collaboration with Denis Hertrampf, who is also represented in the new junior class with his own team.
Well-prepared for this new sporting challenge, Carsten Freudenberg is looking forward to the new season with optimism: “We see the 2025 IDM season as a valuable learning phase to help us prepare optimally for our planned entry into the World Championship in 2026. I’m particularly excited about our talented young driver, Luis Rammerstorfer, who is a perfect fit for our team.” Whether there will be a second rider alongside Louis is still undecided at this time.
