Who will be the second Superbike rider alongside Lorenzo Zanetti on the Triple M Racing Ducati Frankfurt team? The decision should have been made by now, but the search is proving difficult.
It’s not as if there’s a shortage of applicants. “We have several in the pipeline,” says team manager Matthias Moser. “From Germany and other countries as well,” he adds, “but we have absolutely no idea who will end up joining us.” A test day was supposed to help make the decision, among other things. The first session in Oscherleben was canceled due to adverse weather conditions. And the track in Valencia was impassable in November following the flooding in the region. Team manager Axel Adickes has just been tasked with finding a new date, which should reveal which rider will be the second Ducati Panigale V4R rider.
Lorenzo Zanetti, 37, who is under a two-year contract, moved to the International German Motorcycle Championship (IDM) a year ago after winning the Italian Superbike Championship. Prior to that, the Ducati test rider spent several years competing in the Supersport and Superbike World Championships.
