Many of Florian Alt’s female fans will have to brace themselves. The reigning IDM Superbike champion is no longer on the market. The Honda rider from the HRP Team is engaged and is planning a future with his long-haired girlfriend from Thuringia.
They first met in 2015 at the Schleizer Dreieck, but the love story between the 28-year-old, blond model-athlete and his partner didn’t begin until a year later. Family friend Dani Hesse, who turned out to be Florian Alt’s biggest fan of all—even going so far as to paint his Simson in the Alt design—expressed surprise, almost reproachfully, to his circle of friends that Kimberly Möckel didn’t know this IDM superbiker. She, for her part, hadn’t really taken notice of the visitor in the paddock back then.
Well, she connected with him and started following him on Instagram. Since “Flo” Alt checks his followers, he took a closer look at Kim’s profile, recognized her, and reached out to her. “Yeah, I think that was me,” he recalls. After many late-night phone calls, they met for the first time. “Since she was still 17, she took the train and traveled from Jena to Siegburg,” he says, recounting the story as if it were yesterday: “I drove her to the banks of the Rhine, and we talked while looking out at Cologne Cathedral.”
It was right there that, on August 20, 2024, Flo got down on one knee in front of his bride—in true classic style—and asked for her hand in marriage. Kimberly Möckel from Schleiz, who now lives with Alt in his hometown of Engelskirchen, answered “yes” to the question of all questions. As a symbol of their union, she wears a gold ring set with an emerald and diamonds on her finger.
