Vier Fahrer aus vier Nationen. Freudenberg KTM-PALIGO Racing hat die vollständige Besetzung des Teams für die Internationale Deutsche Motorradmeisterschaft (IDM) 2024 bekannt gegeben. Phillip Tonn aus Deutschland und Oliver Svendsen aus Dänemark waren bereits seit längerer Zeit in der Supersport 300-Klasse gesetzt. Neu dazugekommen sind Ruben Bijman aus den Niederlanden und Fabio Sarasino aus der Schweiz.
Now in its 25th season, the racing team based in Bischofswerda, Saxony, continues to actively develop young talent on an international level. Team manager Carsten Freudenberg has also taken on the challenge of working with four riders from four different countries, with the IDM title as the primary goal. Added to this is the ongoing technical development of the KTM package.
„1999 war unsere erste IDM-Saison, nun gehen wir bereits in das 25. Jahr“, blickt Freudenberg auf eine lange und erfolgreiche Geschichte zurück. „Uns verbinden viele Freundschaften und wir sind stolz, ein Teil der IDM-Familie zu sein. Natürlich unterstützen wir die IDM und möchten mit vier Fahrern in der Supersport 300-Klasse ein positives Zeichen setzen. Mit der Verpflichtung von Ruben und Fabio ist unser Team komplett. Ich freue mich sehr, dass wir beide Fahrer an Bord haben. Fabio strebt den nächsten Schritt in der IDM an, wir werden ihn dabei mit aller Kraft unterstützen. Ruben, der auch in der WM für uns antritt, hat wiederum das Potenzial, im Kampf um den Meistertitel ein gewichtiges Wort mitzureden. Gemeinsam mit Phillip und Oliver sind wir bestens für die neue IDM-Saison aufgestellt.“
Fabio Sarasino, who is moving from Kawasaki to the KTM RC 390 R, is thrilled to be racing for the team in just a few weeks. Last year, the 20-year-old scored five championship points. Now his goals are set higher. “I want to consistently finish in the top 10. We’ll be testing again at the end of April to get me fully prepared for the season.”
Ruben Bijman, who is the same age, has his sights set on the title. “For me, it’s a great opportunity to further develop my skills alongside the World Championship.” The Dutch rider competed in ten of 14 IDM races on a Yamaha in 2023, scored points in every race, and finished eighth overall. He aims to keep moving up with the Freudenberg team. “It has repeatedly proven its potential in both the IDM and the World Championship in recent years.”
