After two years with Kawasaki and eight podium finishes in 2022, Luca de Vleeschauwer is joining Andreas Köder’s Motolife Racing Team for the 2024 season. This also means that de Vleeschauwer will be riding a Triumph Street Triple 765 RS in the future.
The 21-year-old Belgian Luca de Vleeschauwer finished third overall in the IDM Supersport class in 2022 and fifth a year later. The goal for the upcoming season is clear: he is expected to lead the field and secure podium finishes for the brand, which joined the International German Motorcycle Championship (IDM) as its seventh partner a year ago. Techno fan de Vleeschauwer knows exactly what he’s getting into for the coming season and says: “I’m very happy to be riding a Triumph this year! It’s a motorcycle that has proven to be competitive, and I’m confident that MotoLife has the experience to put together a great package. It’s a completely new bike for me, and I can’t wait to put the first few miles under my belt in Rijeka.” The fact that the IDM season opener from May 3–5 is taking place at the Sachsenring of all places should suit de Vleeschauwer just fine. It’s his favorite track. There couldn’t be a better start.
Team manager Andreas Köder has been keeping an eye on the fast Belgian rider since his move up to the Supersport class and is confident in his choice of rider for 2024. Köder, who runs a motorcycle shop in Ellwangen specializing in racing, is fully dedicated to this single project. The previous team structure, which included three or four riders in different classes, no longer exists. “We are focusing 100 percent on working with Luca. Last year, we completed our first full season with our Triumph Street Triple 765 Next Generation, and the bike showed great potential. Over the winter, we also developed some new components together with our partner Wepol Racing Parts.”
