Oliver Svendsen will be lining up for Team Freudenberg-Paligo Racing in the upcoming season. The Dane made a name for himself at the season finale in Hockenheim.
The Freudenberg team has finalized its third rider for the upcoming season: Oliver Svendsen. The Dane has signed a one-year contract to race in the familiar orange KTM colors and compete for podium finishes in the Supersport 300 class of the International German Championship (IDM). “That’s our goal, at least,” says team boss Carsten Freudenberg confidently.
Svendsen already proved he can compete at the front during the season finale at the Hockenheimring. In the second race, the 19-year-old managed to take third place. In doing so, he not only secured his first podium finish in the IDM but also caught the attention of Carsten Freudenberg.
During the first World Championship test days in Valencia in early January, Svendsen already had the opportunity to test the first few kilometers on a KTM alongside World Champion Jeffrey Buis. “He’s done a great job from the start and has integrated well into the team,” says Freudenberg, praising his new recruit, who is now also expanding his international reach with the Dane.
Even off the racetrack, Svendsen has already made a lasting impression on his new team manager. “Oliver drove all the way from Lasby to Bischofswerda and back in a single day with a friend—a distance of more than 1,800 kilometers—just to showcase the current motorcycle at two motorcycle shows in Denmark,” Carsten Freudenberg reports, clearly impressed. As a thank-you, Svendsen gave him a photo of the motorcycle, which has temporarily found a safe and secure spot in his new rider’s living room.
