Team GERT56 is bringing in a riding coach for the Schleizer Dreieck and has hired Peter Sebestyan from the Supersport.

Last year, they competed against each other in the Supersport and had the pleasure of battling it out on several occasions. In Schleiz, Patrick “Pax” Hobelsberger—who has switched classes—and Peter Sebestyen are working together. The Hungarian is employed as a riding coach for the GERT56 Superbike team. Hobelsberger’s idea to rely on Sebestyen’s support for a weekend was met with enthusiasm across the board, especially on the challenging Schleiz Triangle.

Normally, Sebestyen works in the Northern Talent Cup. But since the junior series isn’t racing this weekend and the Hungarian has some free time, he jumped at the chance to join the IDM. Sebestyen assists Hobelsberger, Toni Finsterbusch, and Jan-Ole Jähnig on their BMWs with line selection, keeps an eye on braking points, and analyzes driving data. “Even just the comparison videos alone help us a lot,” says Hobelsberger, who isn’t the only one grateful for the support.
