IDM SBK: Two Days as the Top Apprentice at GERT56 in Most

No pain, no gain. Robert Bösen from Saarbrücken is the lucky one who gets to experience life on an IDM team up close. Text and photo: Anke Wieczorek

Robert Bösen from Saarbrücken won the award. The 23-year-old is Germany’s top apprentice in the field of two-wheeled vehicle mechatronics for 2022 (Yamaha Klein, Dillingen). As a reward, he was treated to a weekend at the racetrack with an IDM team. The BMW marketing department reserved a spot for him for two days with GERT56 at the races in Most, Czech Republic. Bösen, who is now working as a journeyman, will get to lend a hand and help prepare Rico Löwe’s motorcycle for the Pro Superstock 1000 series. Team manager Karsten Wolf explains: “Robert is being integrated into the team. The goal is to show him how professionally a team works under time pressure and in high-stress situations.” Bösen was particularly impressed by the sounds of the track.
