For Peter Kimeswenger and Ondřej Sedláček (MRSC Gunskirchen), the race weekends so far have been rather sobering. Their season opener at the Sachsenring ended with a last-place finish in the main race, and they crossed the finish line second-to-last in the sprint race. The German-Czech team has been struggling with technical issues that have impacted their performance. After making some changes to the suspension over the winter and installing new shock absorbers, things stopped going smoothly for the sidecar duo. “With the new shock absorbers, we simply couldn’t achieve the desired level of performance, which is why we reverted to the old components after the first race weekends,” explains Kimeswenger. Despite switching back to the old shock absorbers, things aren’t going as hoped. Although the team was able to score points with 11th and 15th-place finishes last weekend at Spa, the right feeling has yet to materialize.
“Nevertheless, we’re optimistic that we’ll get back to our old form and iron out the technical glitches,” Kimeswenger said confidently. The team will continue working this weekend in Most to regain its momentum and keep the upward trend going.
