Petr Svoboda ist der neue Star in der Supersport 300-Weltmeisterschaft. Der Tscheche gewann am Wochenende in Assen die beiden WM-Auftakt-Rennen und führt die Wertung mit der maximalen Punktzahl an. Seine nächste Station ist der Sachsenring. Der 20-jährige Kawasaki-Fahrer ist nämlich zugleich ein permanent eingeschriebener IDM-Teilnehmer. Die Serie startet vom 12. bis 14. Mai auf dem Sachsenring in die neue Saison. Svobodas Teamchef Rob Vennegoor von Füsport-RT Motorsports by SKM-Kawasaki spricht jetzt schon von einer kleinen WM.

„Ich habe ein gutes Gefühl“, blickt Vennegoor dem IDM-Auftakt entgegen, fügt aber hinzu: Die Jungs wie Dirk Geiger oder Lennox Lehmann von Freudenberg KTM – Paligo Racing sind auch sehr schnell und werden mit vorne dabei sein. Das wird ein harter Kampf in der diesjährigen Supersport 300-Klasse. Das ist jetzt wie eine kleine WM.“
