Motor Presse Stuttgart will take over the promotion and organization of the FIM Sidecar World Championship effective immediately. This was agreed upon by the FIM, the international motorcycle racing federation, and Motor Presse Stuttgart. The agreement, initially valid for one year, includes an option to extend through the 2026 season. The partnership, signed at the FIM Conference in Lille, France, stipulates that the series will consist of a minimum of five and a maximum of ten events in 2023. A minimum of 14 teams was set as a prerequisite.
The plan is to eventually expand the championship beyond Europe. Following the agreement, the new promoter is now focused on releasing the 2023 calendar and the rules as soon as possible.

Jorge Viegas, President of the FIM:
“We believe we have found a great partner in Motor Presse Stuttgart to promote the FIM Sidecar World Championship and introduce it to a new audience. There is no doubt that Motor Presse Stuttgart has the experience and capabilities to bring real added value to this series and raise the standards in this unique discipline. The FIM is ready to provide the necessary support to ensure that this new partnership is a success for everyone involved, including the teams and riders, who will be delighted by this news.”

Dr. Andreas Geiger, Managing Director of Motor Presse Stuttgart:
“Following the International German Motorcycle Championship, we have now also succeeded in becoming the organizer of the Sidecar World Championship. This is an important step for our company as an organizer, but also a great compliment to our proven team led by Norman Broy.”

Normann Broy, Head of Motorsport at Motor Presse Stuttgart:
“Motor Presse Stuttgart is pleased to serve as the promoter of the Sidecar World Championship for the coming years. With many title holders from German-speaking countries, this discipline has a very successful history in our markets. As a media company, we aim to grow interest in this category and thereby strengthen its economic foundation. We thank the FIM for their trust in our professionalism.”
