Dutch rider Victor Steeman is moving up to the next class this IDM weekend on his home track. The 22-year-old World Supersport 300 rider, who competes in the World Championship for MTM Kawasaki, will make his debut on a Yamaha YZF-R6 in the Supersport class as a guest rider for the RRSocia Racing Team. “This is a great opportunity for me to use the long summer break in the World Championship to train and gain new experience,” says Steeman, who finished third overall as a regular rider in the IDM Supersport 300 in 2018 and subsequently moved up to the WSSP 300. In 2023, he aims to secure a spot in the Supersport World Championship.

Judging by his performances, the Dutchman is certainly not far from moving up to the next class. With two World Championship wins and 122 points to his name, he currently ranks third in the World Championship. And last weekend, he also finished third at the Jack’s Racing Day motorsports event in Assen.

In the first free practice session on Friday, the Yamaha rider already finished in second place. Things are going well for Victor Steeman. We’ll see on Sunday whether he can secure a spot on the podium in the IDM-Supersport , another home race for him.
