It therefore called for a delicate touch and nerves of steel. In the end, Scott Deroue (Freudenberg KTM – Paligo Racing) proved to be the oldest and most experienced rider in the field. The KTM rider started the race cautiously, assessing the track conditions. It wasn’t until a few laps in that he launched his attack, steadily clawing his way toward the lead held by Marvin Siebdrath (Füsport – RT Motorsports by SKM – Kawasaki). A mistake by Siebdrath allowed Deroue to take the lead. But the KTM rider couldn’t hold onto that position for long, as Siebdrath had the better pace and was back on the Dutchman’s tail after just a few corners. He confidently overtook Deroue, and the final battle for victory was on. It was ultimately the final lap that saw the two riders bring the race to a climax with thrilling duels right down to the last corner, ending in a photo finish decided by 0.011 seconds in favor of Scott Deroue. Phew, what a narrow victory. The winner saw it exactly the same way: “It was a really tough race—right up until the last lap. But it was fun,” said Deroue.
Marvin Siebdrath looked back on the race with mixed feelings. On the one hand, he was happy because his second-place finish earned him valuable points toward extending his lead in the overall standings. “I’m also glad it didn’t turn into a rain race after all; I might not have been as strong then,” said the Kawasaki rider. On the other hand, victory was just a hair’s breadth away. Still, the Wildenfels native is very satisfied with his interim record of having already stood on the podium three times in three races.
Walid Khan (Freudenberg KTM – Paligo Racing) finished in third place. Deroue’s teammate also put in a consistently strong performance. From the start, the Dutchman stayed right on the tail of Marvin Siebdrath, who led the race for a long time. Despite several attempts to overtake Deroue and Siebdrath, he came up short. The fact that he made it onto the podium in his very first race of the new season did not surprise the KTM rider: “I knew I was strong and that I could keep up with the front runners.” For Khan, third place means his first 16 points on the leaderboard.

Troy Beinlich (Roto-Store BRT) proved once again that he is definitely a force to be reckoned with this year. He had already shone twice at the season opener at the Lausitzring, finishing fifth both times. In the first race at Oschersleben, he moved up one spot to finish fourth. Behind him was Mate Szamado (Hungarian Racing Engineering Team), who also showed an upward trend this weekend and set the fastest lap of the race.
