What began in 2019 will continue into the future. Team SWPN and Melvin van der Voort will remain together in the International German Motorcycle Championship. The 16-year-old Yamaha rider from the Netherlands will compete in the IDM Supersport.

Van der Voort is entering his fourth season with the team. He made his SWPN debut in the IDM Supersport class in 2019. After two years of podium finishes, including one victory, the teenager from Ede moved up to the higher IDM Supersport category in 2021. He was the youngest rider on the grid. And he finished the season with five top-ten finishes. “I’ve made a lot of progress on the Yamaha R6,” says van der Voort, “and I want to keep that momentum going.”
The team is a partner of the “Zoorgelos Kind” foundation and is supported by Yamaha Motor Europe, Benelux branch. Van der Voort will test with his new teammate, Superbike rider Rob Hartog, beforehand.

Team manager Frank Brouwer says: “Since we started working together in 2019, we’ve put a lot of energy into Melvin and the IDM. So far, that has paid off with a nice upward trend. Melvin is a talented rider whom we believe in. We’re really looking forward to the tests in Spain.”
