Effective immediately, Alessandro Polita and the Holzhauer Racing Promotion team are parting ways. Both will remain in the IDM Superbike 1000 series.

After three years with Jens Holzhauer’s HRP team, 37-year-old Alessandro Polita has announced that their partnership has come to an end. The Italian regrets the decision. It came as a surprise to him, as he had expected to remain with the team following several discussions. Polita competed in his first full season on the Honda Fireblade in 2019. In Most, he achieved his only podium finish to date in the IDM Superbike 1000. Polita finished fifth overall in the standings. In the following years, he finished eighth and eleventh overall in the premier class on the Honda CBR 1000 RR-R, although he was sidelined in 2021 at the Red Bull Ring and the Hockenheim finale due to a broken collarbone.

Polita says: “I am absolutely certain that the work I’ve done is of fundamental importance to my successors. Developing the Fireblade is a difficult project, especially considering that I was the only Honda rider who tried to develop our technical package. I’m sure Jens Holzhauer will pass the baton to someone who can build on the work done so far—perhaps with the same passion and tenacity that have always defined me.”

Polita says it would be a privilege for him to end his career in a championship as prestigious as the IDM. He is already in talks with BMW teams.
