IDM SSP 600: Enderlein Replaces Soomer in the World Championship

That was a last-minute addition. Max Enderlein, another IDM Supersport , has received a wild card for this coming weekend’s Supersport in Most. The 24-year-old from Saxony has joined Team Kallio Racing, where he will ride the Yamaha YZF-R6 in place of the injured Hannes Soomer from Estonia, who broke his ankle.

The Superbike World Championship is making its debut in Most, Czech Republic, as is the Supersport. IDM riders Martin Vugrinec, Valentin Debise, and Patrick Hobelsberger had already been confirmed as wild-card riders for this event some time ago—and now Max Enderlein is joining them as a new addition.

“I can hardly believe it myself that my dream of getting a wild card at Most is coming true. At first, it really didn’t look that way. But my sponsors and partners have done an incredible job to make sure I can still make it to the starting grid,” says the current third-place rider in the IDM, clearly overwhelmed. With Kallio Racing, he also has a strong team behind him. The team won the Supersport in 2018 with Sandro Cortese.

However, in Most, Enderlein will not be riding his Yamaha with the “32” race number he is known for in the IDM, but will instead be racing with the “51.”
