Driver change at Team Freudenberg. For the second race weekend of the International German Championship (IDM) in Most, there will be a temporary driver change in the KTM pit with Walid Khan (21/Groningen). The Dutchman will step in as a substitute for regular driver Leo Rammerstorfer (15), who is prioritizing the Austrian Talent Cup this weekend. With two wins under his belt this season, Austrian Leo Rammerstorfer heads into the race as the Cup leader and aims to extend his lead.
His replacement at Most is no stranger. Walid Khan already competed as a regular rider in the IDM Supersport class with Kawasaki in 2018. He took a break in 2019 and 2020. Now the 21-year-old is once again looking for a team. “But this weekend, only one thing matters to me: learning to master the KTM as much as possible and starting from the front rows in the races,” says Walid Khan, who is gaining his first experience on the KTM RC 390R.
For Leo Rammerstorfer, the IDM continues in Schleiz, where the series will be held from July 23 to 25, 2021.
