The second qualifying session in the IDM Supersport was a rollercoaster ride. Patrick Hobelsberger and Max Enderlein held onto their positions at the top. This means that Hobelsberger will start both races from pole position on his Bonovo Action by MGM Racing Yamaha. Enderlein (M32 Racing Team) will launch his attack from second place.
The front row of the grid is rounded out by another Yamaha rider: Marcel Brenner. His time from Q1 was enough to secure his spot. The Swiss rider didn’t show up for the second qualifying session at all. The reason: tire problems. A solution must be found before the start of the first race, today at 5:15 p.m., but the Hess team is confident.
Maximilian Kofler (Kawasaki Schnock Team Motorex) heads the second row of the grid; he is the fastest ZX6-R rider and also stood out for his consistency. The Austrian’s fourth-place grid position from Q1 remained unchanged in Q2. Behind him, the action was intense. Jan-Ole Jähnig (M32 Racing) dropped two spots, while double-starter Valentin Debise (Kawasaki Weber-Motos Racing Team) moved up two positions. The Frenchman slipped into the second row of the grid, while Martin Vugrinec (ferQuest-UNIOR-Racing) dropped back. Gabriel Noderer (Kawasaki Weber-Motos Racing) fell out of the top ten, while Glenn van Straalen (NIWA Racing) moved into it.
A total of 26 Supersport riders are on the starting grid. In addition, there are six Superstock Cup riders, who are classified separately.
