Max Enderlein and his teammate Jan-Ole Jähnig are “ready to race.” Before heading to Oschersleben today for the IDM season opener, the two Supersport riders were still testing at the Lausitzring last weekend.
“Overall, we managed to get in quite a bit of track time. There were some wet-weather laps and a few amateur riders out there, but those were relatively minor factors,” Enderlein sums up. Despite the traffic, the Yamaha rider from Hohenstein-Ernstthal was able to match his 2020 qualifying time on his fastest lap. “On Sunday, Jan-Ole and I were then able to complete effective 8-10 lap stints for the first time to see how the new Pirelli slick tires perform over a race-like distance.” Enderlein aims to become a repeat champion. He has already claimed the title in 2018 and 2019.
Jähnig was also pleased, but crashed while pushing the bike to its limits. He was unharmed, but the Yamaha R6 sustained significant damage. “But it’s nothing we can’t fix in time for the Oschersleben races,” he said. The two riders from the M32 Racing Team are hoping for good weather for Friday’s free practice sessions.
