The second qualifying session shook things up once again. Victor Steeman remained in the lead, but Glenn van Straalen stepped it up a notch. The Dutch Kawasaki rider shot up to second place. Defending champion Max Enderlein dropped one spot but, as the third-fastest rider, retained his place on the front row of the grid.

Marc Buchner improved his time in the second qualifying session. His lap time of 1:42.629 minutes was enough to secure a spot on the second row of the grid. The Yamaha rider was his usual self-critical self: “The bike is perfectly set up, but I didn’t find the right rhythm. I made a mistake in the first qualifying session and ended up riding in heavy traffic. I should have waited for a clear lap. But I have a good feeling about the race. Then things will finally get going again.”

In contrast, the Kawasaki Schnock Team Motorex is at a loss, particularly Luca Grünwald. Last year’s two-time race winner dropped from P9 to P13. This makes Gabriel Noderer the top German-speaking Kawasaki rider in the Yamaha-dominated 600cc class.
In the IDM Superstock 600 class, everything remained the same. Here, the times from the first qualifying session stood unchallenged. The second-fastest rider is Paul Fröde. As in 2019, the Saxon is the only Honda rider in the field.
