Due to today's cancellation of the ADAC Sachsenring Classic, the planned season opener for the IDM Superbike 1000 at the German MotoGP track has been called off. The premier class of the International German Motorcycle Championship (IDM) was scheduled to feature in the supporting program of this traditional event with the first two championship races.
The organizer, ADAC Sachsen, officially canceled its event today, which was scheduled to take place from May 8 to 10, 2020. There is no rescheduled date.
“After a six-year hiatus for the IDM on this iconic track, we would have been very excited about the return, especially with our strong field of competitors,” says IDM Series Manager Normann Broy. “But given the measures to contain the coronavirus pandemic, the ADAC Saxony’s decision is understandable.” In Stuttgart, the Motor Presse event team continues to work around the clock to organize the 2020 IDM.
