After three turns at the Autodrom Most, the battle at the front was over. Guest rider Victor Steeman (Freudenberg WorldSSP Team) led the field on his KTM ahead of his teammate Toni Erhard. That didn’t change until the finish line after eleven laps. Because Steeman, as a guest rider, didn’t receive any points, Erhard earned the full 25 points for the second IDM race in the junior class this weekend. However, the 18-year-old can kiss his title defense goodbye. He will no longer reach the top in the remaining six races. “For me, only individual results count now, but the victory feels really good,” says the Schwarzenberg native, whose first half of the season was very mixed.

Championship leader Angelo Licciardi (Benjan Racing Team) added another 20 points to his tally by finishing third in the race. With this result, the Kawasaki rider extended his lead over Rick Dunnik (ZUWI HDRacing, Yamaha), Colin Velthuizen (Nutec-RT-Motorsports by SKM-Kawasaki), and David Kuban (KTM). The battle for the positions behind Licciardi is in full swing. Ruben Bijman (Pearle Gebben Racing, Yamaha) and Troy Beinlich (Nutec-RT-Motorsports by SKM-Kawasaki) are also in the mix.

Velthuizen, who had crashed in the first race, jumped the start in the second race. Nina Schubrikoff also opened the throttle too early. Both received a time penalty. While the Dutch rider still managed to finish in the points, the penalty set the German further back. The IDM Supersport continues in just one week. The junior class will then make a guest appearance as part of Gamma Racing Day in Assen, Netherlands.
