That was a close call. Bobby Bos had to go to the doctor last Friday. The urgent visit wasn't just about his health, but rather about an appointment. The 20-year-old IDM Superbike rider from Team HPC-Power Suzuki Racingrecently landed his first job in the Endurance World Championship as well.

Bobby Bos hit the jackpot right off the bat and will be racing for the Czech Exteria Racing Team He’ll be competing for Suzuki in the Stocksport category at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The race takes place on April 20 and 12—that is, over Easter weekend. But first, he needed a driver’s license for it. And you can’t get one without a medical exam. “I really had to hurry. A blood test and an eye exam. That was it.”

How did he land the job? His IDM teammate Kevin Sieder was already riding for the team and suggested that Bos follow up with them. Sometimes, a good conversation goes a long way. During the Assen test with HPC-Power Suzuki Racing, Sieder stayed with his Dutch teammate, and they had quite a few conversations. “I’ve wanted to race in the World Endurance Championship for a long time,” Bos says, “but it’s not that easy to get a spot. Although it seemed like the Czechs were actually quite happy to get my call.”
