One win and four second-place finishes—those were Marc Buchner’s podium results in the 2018 season. The 28-year-old Yamaha rider from Königswinter finished third overall in the IDM Supersport 600. What’s next? Buchner will kick off the new season on April 20, 2019, at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. His participation with the Mototech EWC team on the Superbike Yamaha is confirmed, as are those of his already-announced teammates Bram Lambrechts (B) and Nigel Walraven (NL). Buchner is aiming to carry his high level of fitness from last season into the new year and recently competed in an amateur motocross race organized by the Ohlenberg Club.
The 17-year-old Dutch rider Guus Boes is now joining Buchner Motorsport’s team in the IDM’ Supersport 600 class. He won the 2018 title in the 600cc class of the national ONK SuperCup. The spirited blond-haired rider was recommended by the dynamic scene insider and manager Rob Venegoor from the Netherlands. But that’s not the whole story yet. Buchner Motorsport is still in talks with other riders, and current contract rider Koen Zeelen also has an option for 2019.
