David Yasnogorodski has made his mark. His cousin, Ilya Mikhalchik, is competing for the title in the IDM Superbike 1000 class. The 21-year-old David has been present at nearly all of the Ukrainian rider’s races. The racing gene runs in the family. David has already competed in the Ukrainian Supermoto Championship, racing in the 300cc class. Now he’s ready to make his mark in the International German Championship: in the IDM Supersport 600 class, riding a Honda, with his own team.

However, the energetic Yasnogorodski doesn’t want to race under the Ukrainian flag; instead, he wants to represent Israel. He lived there for a long time and has friends who will support the project. Take Bar Levi, for example, who raced in the former European Junior Cup as part of the European Superbike World Championship rounds. He wants to come to Germany with the team. The 23-year-old’s father is Israel’s official Honda importer.

Yasnogorodski doesn’t want to buy his way into a team; instead, he plans to take matters into his own hands. “Each rider will have two mechanics; the bikes will stay in Europe and be transported to the racetracks by truck.” The potential IDM newcomer isn’t at the same level as his cousin Ilya: “But I train with him.”
