The first race in the IDM Supersport junior class got off to a scary start. On the start-finish straight, two riders collided shortly after the start. Joep Overbeek had to be taken to the hospital for examination. However, the race was not stopped; everything was under control.
At the front, Victor Steeman on a KTM and Dion Otten, the sole Honda rider, were locked in a fierce battle, which was joined by Germany’s Toni Erhard ( KTM). The three young riders were doing their own thing at the very front, constantly trading blows. On the penultimate lap, Erhard took the lead and didn’t relinquish it until the finish line. He crossed the line first, ahead of Otten and Steeman. With his second win of the season, the Saxon from Kiefer Racing simultaneously snatched the championship lead from Dutchman Victor Steeman.
Guest rider Dennis Koopmann (Yamaha) had a lonely race in fourth place, with no one ahead of or behind him. The rest of the pack followed seven seconds behind, led by Micky Winkler ( Yamaha).
