The Rubin brothers are aiming for podium finishes in their second season. A year ago, they were still a second behind the top drivers. A few years ago, these motorsports-loving boys put their parents on the spot and insisted they wanted to race seriously. The talent for it ran in the family.
Motorsports is in our blood
Her sister Stephanie also loved a challenge; she competed in speedway and dirt track racing and even became German champion twice. When she suffered severe head injuries in a serious crash, her career seemed to be over. But Steffi fought her way back and was back on a motorcycle after six months. At age 14, however, she was injured so badly that she had to quit for good. Today she works in the Rubin family’s motorcycle shop. Daniel, born in 1998, and Dominik, born in 1997, entered the Yamaha R6 Dunlop Cup in 2014 and stayed for three years before moving to the IDM Supersport 600 in 2017. As the third-place finisher in the Cup for Yamaha Germany, Daniel received an R6 with racing parts and finished sixth overall in his first IDM season. In Schwanau, southern Baden, he builds the motorcycles for himself and his brother as a trained motorcycle mechanic. His brother Dominik is currently pursuing a dual degree in business administration and handles organizational matters together with their father, Hubert.
