The Hockenheimring has a long tradition as the venue for the IDM final. The first motorcycle race ever took place at the Motodrom in Baden in 1932. This marked the beginning of a fairy-tale rise for the small town of Hockenheim. In 1957, the first motorcycle Grand Prix was held in Hockenheim. Because the old course was too long and there was hardly anything for spectators to see in the long forest sections, a shorter track with better overtaking opportunities was created. Everything was ready in 2003. The Hockenheimring is a flowing right-hand course with the ultra-fast Parabolica left-hand curve. The Motodrom has cult status.
