The second EURO MOTO Supersport race Supersport Most ended prematurely and without a result. After two race interruptions, race officials decided not to schedule any further restarts. As a result, no points were awarded, and the laps already completed were not counted.

This was particularly frustrating for Dirk Geiger (Apreco-Yamaha). After his victory on Saturday, the Mannheim native had taken the overall lead from Ducati rider Daniel Blin (Automarket AF Racing Team) and was looking to further extend his lead in the second race. At first, everything looked promising: Geiger immediately took the lead and built up a gap. Then came the shock in lap five. Swiss rider Marcel Brenner (Automarket AF Racing Team) crashed heavily after a violent highside at the exit of the final corner. The race was red-flagged and Brenner was taken to the hospital.

For the restart, the starting grid was determined based on the last complete lap of the race. Geiger was once again in pole position. MV Agusta’s rising star Luca Göttlicher lined up next to him and was already looking forward to his next podium finish, having broken MV Agusta’s losing streak yesterday. Rounding out the front row was Luca de Vleeschauwer (SWPN). Behind them were Filip Feigl (Eder Racing) and Daniel Blin, who had impressively worked his way up from 16th on the grid to fifth place in just four laps during the first segment of the race.

The race was shortened to eight laps. Geiger and Göttlicher got off to a good start. Blin, too, had gotten off to a good start further back and pulled up right alongside de Vleeschauwer’s Yamaha YZF-R9. But before the race could really get going, the red flag was waved again: the race was called off. Jindřich Škopek, one of the four Czech riders, had crashed, and the ambulance drove onto the track. The race was not restarted.
