Ted and Vincent Peugeot are on a quest to break records. The French sidecar duo, with the son serving as the driver, is aiming to secure another one-two finish in the championship.
Last year, the father-son team became the first French team in history to win both the French and German championships. “That’s never been done before. That’s why we want to do it a second time,” says Ted Peugeot, who, at 21, is already in his fourth racing season. “For years, I watched my father’s sidecar races from the stands and could hardly wait to finally drive myself,” Ted Peugeot continues, explaining that he had to wait until he was 17 before he was finally allowed to take the wheel himself. Fortunately, that’s a thing of the past.
A quick look at the championship standings reveals that the two are hot on the heels of their double title defense. “We’re currently leading in both series,” reports the young Peugeot driver. In the IDM, they currently hold a 13-point lead over Lukas Wyssen/Ema Salmon and a 32-point lead over Lennard Göttlich/Lucas Krieg. This weekend in Schleiz, they have the chance to further extend their lead in front of around 30,000 fans. The first race takes place on Saturday evening at 5:45 p.m. The second race starts on Sunday at 4:20 p.m. All races can be watched live and for free at www.idm.de/live.
