A wildcard for the World Championship—that’s Oliver Svendsen’s (Freudenberg KTM-Paligo Racing) top goal this year. To secure it, the Dane needs to do more than just post good results. He’s also looking for additional sponsors to support his efforts. To that end, the 20-year-old is even rolling up his sleeves in the kitchen in Oschersleben.
But that wasn’t the end of the day for the trained auto mechanic. To further boost his racing career, Svendsen is actively seeking new sponsors. He’s expecting a potential sponsor in Oschersleben. And to win them over, he’s even pulling out all the culinary stops. “I’m heading into town right now to buy all the ingredients,” said the KTM rider after the second practice session. Because tonight he wants to cook something himself for his guest. It has to taste really good—that’s important to Svendsen. He doesn’t have much space or equipment in his tent, but together with his father, he’d like to serve up something “special.”
He wouldn't say exactly what he was going to cook—just this much: either a nice pasta dish—you can never go wrong with that—or a Danish specialty. It all depends on what he finds at the supermarket.
Whether it's spaghetti Bolognese or smørrebrød: with so much dedication and initiative, surely we can win over our upcoming guests, right?
