No sooner has the season finale ended than Phillip Tonn, who finished fifth overall in the IDM, is heading to Spain. There, the Mattstedt native will compete in the FIM World Supersport at Portimão this coming weekend, riding the second KTM alongside Dirk Geiger. This will be his first start in the World Championship.

Tonn is stepping in for his injured teammate Lennox Lehmann, who was knocked down by a Spanish competitor during the last race weekend in Aragon and suffered several broken bones and facial injuries as a result. Lehmann underwent surgery in Zaragoza and will soon be able to return home to Germany.
