The racing season has come to a premature end for Lennox Lehmann. The 17-year-old from Dresden, who competes for the Freudenberg KTM Team in the Supersport 300 World Championship and the IDM, was seriously injured at Aragon.

At the Supersport 300 World Championship in Spain, which was taking place concurrently with the IDM finale in Hockenheim, the first race was stopped after three laps. Lehmann, riding the KTM, had been knocked off his bike from behind by a Spanish competitor. He was struck head-on by the motorcycle. Due to the force of the impact, he suffered a femoral neck fracture, two vertebral fractures, and facial injuries, team manager Carsten Freudenberg reported. Lehmann’s helmet visor had flown off, and his face was severely lacerated by flying gravel. The Saxon is currently being treated at a hospital in Zaragoza.

Since the Supersport 300 World Championship finale in Portimão is taking place this coming weekend, the two-time IDM champion will be watching it from his hospital bed. His season is over. He is considering a move up to the Supersport class for 2024.
