Once a year, things are different for Moritz Jenkner in the Pro Superstock Series. That’s when Steffen Rüdiger works on his motorcycle—even though he’s actually riding for Gerrett Gerloff on the Bonovo action BMW Team in the Superbike World Championship.
What happened? Jenkner’s mechanic, Silvio Irmischer, is on vacation for the second year in a row during the Schleiz race. There’s no other way around it. And Steffen Rüdiger is the father of Jenkner’s girlfriend, Lara. He says, “Moritz asked me if I could help him with his Yamaha in the Pro Superstock series, and I really had no choice but to say yes. I’m more than happy to do it when there aren’t any other races coming up.”
In two weeks, Rüdiger will be back in the IDM paddock—but this time with the Bonovo action BMW team from WorldSBK, which will make a guest appearance at the Red Bull Ring from August 4 to 6, marking a return to its roots.
