Because the private LJ Racing Team was not permanently registered with MV Agusta shortly before the start of the season due to restructuring within the team, the Italian motorcycle brand has not yet been represented in the International German Motorcycle Championship (IDM). That is set to change soon.
Because regular rider Jerry van den Bunt pulled out before the season, the LJ Racing Team’s IDM project has been put on hold for the time being. However, there are plans for two guest appearances. The rider is 18-year-old Till Belczykowski from Duisburg. He was essentially discovered three weeks ago at the season opener of the International Bike Promotion Championship at the Nürburgring, and contact was established with LJ Racing team boss Jan Lübbering. Belczykowski, who didn’t secure an IDM contract for 2023 and is keeping his skills sharp on a Yamaha in the amateur racing series, explains: “We met up on the spot. The result is that I Supersport two guest starts in the IDM Supersport with the LJ Racing Team. In two weeks, I’ll complete my first test and see how I get along with the bike.”
The guest appearances will take place at the IDM races in Assen in August 2023 and at the big Hockenheim finale in September. According to Till Belczykowski, discussions have already taken place regarding him racing full-time next year.
