The second Supersport race at the International German Motorcycle Championship (IDM) in Most was stopped and restarted. The restarted race was also stopped with a red flag. No results were recorded.
The first race was stopped right at the start following crashes by Thomas Gradinger (Eder Racing, Yamaha) and Jorke Erwig (Kawasaki Weber Motos Racing). At that point, Ducati guest rider Oliver Bayliss was leading the race. Melvin van der Voort (Team SWPN) was in second place.
After the restart, the Ducati was once again leading the pack when Damien Raemy crashed. The marshals let him continue. It wasn’t until three corners later that it became apparent the Swiss rider’s Yamaha was leaking oil. Too late. Nearly the entire leading group crashed. Several motorcycles ended up in the gravel trap. The race was stopped and not restarted. None of the riders involved in the crash suffered serious injuries.
