The second " Supersport" race at the International German Motorcycle Championship (IDM) in Most was stopped and restarted. The restarted race was also stopped with a red flag. No results were recorded.
The first attempt was called off right at the start following crashes by Thomas Gradinger (Eder Racing, Yamaha) and Jorke Erwig (Kawasaki Weber Motos Racing). At that point, Ducati guest rider Oliver Bayliss was leading the race. Melvin van der Voort (Team SWPN) was in second place.
After the restart, the Ducati was once again leading the pack when Damien Raemy crashed. The track marshals let him continue. It wasn’t until three corners later that it became apparent the Swiss rider’s Yamaha was leaking oil. Too late. Nearly the entire leading group crashed. Several motorcycles were lying in the gravel trap. The race was stopped and not restarted. None of the riders who crashed suffered serious injuries.
