Following the first race in the IDM Supersport on Saturday afternoon, Inigo Iglesias (Fürsport – RT Motorsports by SKM – Kawasaki) was retroactively penalized. This decision by race officials resulted in Iglesias being stripped of his second-place finish. As a result, yesterday’s third-place finisher, Dirk Geiger (Freudenberg KTM-Paligo Racing), moves up to second place, while Inigo Iglesias is now classified third.
Race officials justified their decision by stating that Iglesias’s driving during yesterday’s race on the second lap was deemed irresponsible, which violates the applicable rules.
Dustin Schneider of Team Freudenberg KTM-Paligo Racing was also penalized by race officials on Sunday morning after the warm-up for a rule violation. Schneider had not affixed his tire stickers in accordance with the regulations. As a result, he was moved back three spots on the starting grid. He will start from tenth position. The second race on Sunday afternoon begins at 1:20 p.m. and will be streamed live for free at www.idm.de/live.
