The IDM heads to Most this weekend for its third round, and Supersport 300 rider Dirk Geiger of Team Freudenberg-Paligo Racing will be there once again. The Mannheim native sat out the race at Oschersleben, along with other riders in the junior class, in order to compete in the World Championship round at Misano and earn more points. It was a success. Geiger narrowly missed out on victory in the second race and celebrated an impressive second-place finish on the podium.

Despite currently sitting in third place in the overall standings of the FIM Supersport 300 World Championship, the KTM rider isn’t entirely satisfied. “There’s more to come,” he’s certain, and he sees plenty of room for improvement on the bike. “I still don’t have the right feel for the bike,” Geiger explains his dissatisfaction. This problem is particularly evident during practice and qualifying sessions, making it difficult for him to secure a front-row starting position. The weaknesses of his KTM RC 390 R prevent the 20-year-old from finding his desired racing rhythm. “In the races, things work out reasonably well and I somehow manage to hang in there,” explains the Mannheim native, who has finished on the podium twice in six races so far.

During the IDM weekend in Most, Geiger will now be able to gain more valuable experience and IDM points for the team, as well as work intensively on the technical details of his bike, so that he might soon be starting the races from pole position.

The first race of the IDM Supersport 300 will take place on Saturday at 4:35 p.m. and will be broadcast live at www.idm.de/live.
