The Yamaha R3 bLU cRU Cup will be held for the third time in 2023. It is aimed at young talents between the ages of 13 and 25 who compete for points on identical equipment. This ensures a level playing field. The skills of each individual participant are put to the test. To effectively nurture these young talents, they receive not only organizational support and technical advice but are also supported by a riding coach both on and off the track. The best riders from the national R3 Cup will be invited to the Super Final as part of the Superbike World Championship. There, the top riders from all European Cups will compete against one another.

The Kiefers have a lot of new developments on the horizon. While Yamaha Motor Germany and Kiefer Racing laid the groundwork in 2022 for a joint youth development program featuring a team structure designed to support talented riders as they take their first steps in the IDM following the R3 Cup, they are now moving full steam ahead to the next level.

The Kiefer Racing team will thus be responsible for all aspects of the R3 Cup—both technical and organizational. The motorcycles are built in the Kiefer Racing workshop and are therefore well known to the technical staff who assist the riders at the racetrack. “The Kiefer Racing story began over thirty years ago with our participation in the Yamaha Cup,” says team boss Jochen Kiefer, delighted to be returning to the roots. Now he faces the task of guiding young talents from the R3 Cup along realistic paths into IDM classes or even all the way to the World Championship.
